On the morning of August 27, 2020, at the Vietnam Academy for Water Resources, Viet Nam Disaster Management Authority (VNDMA) held a Consultation Workshop on promoting Science and technology for disaster risk management (DRM), to facilitate and improve the efficiency of science and technology application, contributing to minimizing damage caused by natural disasters.
Ms. Doan Thi Tuyet Nga - Director of Science, Technology and International Cooperation Department, Mr. Nguyen Viet Tien - Director of Legislation and Inspection Department (VNDMA), Mr. Nguyen Tung Phong - Deputy Director General of Vietnam Academy for Water Resources co-chaired the Consultation Workshop. Attending the seminar were representative of Department of Science, Technology and Environment (MARD), Vietnam Academy for Water Resources, Thuyloi University, and leading experts in the field of Science, Technology and DRM.
At the Workshop, the Parties will review and assess the current state, scientific research process, shortcomings, problems in administrative procedures, policy regulations. Difficulties in the application of research results in reality will also be brought up for discussion in the Workshop. Then policies and solutions to facilitate and promote scientific and technological research and application in natural disaster prevention and control are proposed by Parties.
